Reader (Waterford Grove Aparments)
Do you enjoy spending time reading with elementary children? Volunteers will be reading with our students in underprivileged Spring Branch apartment communities. We promote literacy and instill the love of reading by setting up libraries in apartments and by reading with students. Reading is made FUN! The Kids' Reading Room is located in apartment communities around Houston, TX. Pre-requisites: 1. Previous experience in tutoring / mentoring / education is not a requirement but a plus. 2. Complete orientation training on your first day of volunteering. 3. A background check is required to complete on your first day of attendance. A $16 donation to process is encouraged.
