Mentor / Reader - Spring Branch Area
Do you enjoy spending time reading with elementary children? This volunteer opportunity is for FIRST-TIME Kid's Reading Room volunteers who are interested in reading with our students in underprivileged Spring Branch apartment communities. We promote literacy and instill the love of reading by setting up libraries in apartments and by reading with students. Reading is made FUN! The Kids' Reading Room is located in 5 apartment communities. Please Express Interest if you are interested in volunteering with us, and you will have the opportunity to choose from the following apartment complexes: Castlewood Apartments - 7000 Westview, Houston, TX 77055 MONDAY 4:15PM - 5:30PM Brittmoore Apartments - 6725 Brittmoore Rd, Houston, TX 77041 MONDAY 4:15 - 5:15 Providence on Memorial - 1370 Afton, Houston, TX 77055 TUESDAY 4:00 - 5:00 Spring Spirit Baseball Center - 8526 Pitner Rd, Houston, TX 77080 WEDNESDAY 5:00 - 6:00

Pre-requisites:
1. Previous experience in tutoring / mentoring / education is not a requirement but a plus.
2. A background check is required after your first day of attendance. A $16 donation to process is encouraged.
3. Complete orientation training on your first day of volunteering.
