Reading Roundup-Volunteer Event
Grab your friends and family to come out and help Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation prepare to launch our newest literacy mentoring program, Reading Roundup. Reading Roundup is a classroom-based mentorship program that utilizes the power of read-alouds to engage and inspire young minds. Reading Roundup is facilitated through 25 carefully curated picture books – perfect for storytelling! Each of the ten Reading Roundup schools will receive 3-4 bins of these picture books, each with an accompanying lesson guide ready for the volunteers to use.
During this Reading Roundup volunteer event, over 60 bins will be prepared for the launch of the program. Tasks will include: numbering book pages, branding bins, and preparing the bins with books and lesson guides.
Youth volunteers need to complete a volunteer wavier that can be found at this link.
