Every young person in America will have a real opportunity to earn a college degree and the life that comes with it.
Core Literacy Programs
Students from low-income communities - the vast majority of who are students of color - face enormous systemic barriers to attend and complete college. This lack of opportunity is one of our nation's greatest injustices, and it has only widened over the past few decades despite massive reform and investment.
Equality: Just nine percent of students in low-income communities graduate from college.
Access: A college degree impacts earning potential and access to life opportunities.
Community: We don't have the talent we need to fuel a growing workforce and the diverse leadership that we need to thrive as a country.
The OneGoal Solution
OneGoal enlists excellent teachers already in public schools to become Program Directors. We provide Program Directors with a rigorous, results-based curriculum, technology, training, and coaching to implement our three-year model with a group of students (Fellows). OneGoal prioritizes Fellows whose college prospects are extremely limited. Our cohorts enter the program with an average of 2.7 GPA, a 876 SAT, and a 15 ACT score. Program Directors support the same group of Fellows beginning their junior year of high school and bridging the gap through their first year of college.
"OneGoal is great for me because applying to college was really confusing and I didn't know where to start, but I knew I wanted to go. My Program Director, and the OneGoal staff are helping me understand the process. I am choosing colleges based on how they fit me academically and financially, as well as researching what programs they offer that will help me excel in my field." -Gregory Foster, Fellow at Mickey Land College Preparatory Academy for Young Men-
