My Home Library Book Sorting- Bud Light Gives

Grab your friends on Thursday, May 11th to volunteer your time to help sort books for our My Home Library initiative during the Bud Light Gives to Houston’s volunteer event.

My Home Library is an initiative of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation aimed at providing more children access to books in the home. Children log onto the My Home Library website to create a wish list of books to build their home library. Then, members of the community sponsor a child's library of six books.

During this event, volunteers will sort and bag nearly 10,000 books selected by children in three Houston area schools – Blackshear Elementary, Browning Elementary, and Treasure Forest Elementary School through the Foundations’ My Home Library initiative.

Immediately following the community service activity, there will be an after party complete with food from local food trucks, music, games, and Ice Cold Bud Light! We invite you and your friends to join us. All volunteers must be 21 years of age or older to participate.

This event will be located at the Houston Food Bank, 535 Portwall St. Houston TX 77029.
