Holiday Warehouse Volunteer
Spread holiday cheer and support your local library by volunteering with the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation and the Friends of the Houston Public Library at the Book Warehouse during this season of giving! No prior training/experience is needed; guidance will be provided at the Book Warehouse. This opportunity is family friendly as we welcome all volunteers ages 13 and up. For Friends of HPL volunteers age 17 or younger: Please print our volunteer liability release form and have your parent or guardian sign it and bring it in with you on your first shift with the Friends of HPL. You can locate the form here. Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you are comfortable in. Duties: Scanning donated and discarded books using Neatoscan scanner Sorting and moving books into appropriate area (listing, research, recycle, etc.) General warehouse projects such as, breaking down boxes, moving books to other areas, sorting books for community book sales, and listing books on Amazon. Location: Our Book Warehouse is located at 6510 W. Little York, 77040 in the Chase Bank plaza. We are located between the bank and the CVS.
